Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (964) (1991)

Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (964) (1991)

In late 1989, the Porsche 911 underwent a major evolution with the introduction of the 964, since the economy at the time was undergoing a world recession and the company could not rely on its image alone, it launched a new breed of the 911 as the Carrera 4, with “4” indicating four-wheel-drive, demonstrating the company’s commitment to progressive engineering.

With a new retractable rear spoiler able to deploy at high speed, the 964 preserves the design purity of the 911 when the vehicle was stationary. Porsche made major overhauls with the 964, including a redesigned chassis, coil springs, ABS brakes, and power steering all making their debut. The engine size was increased to 3600cc and developed 247 horsepower.

The Porsche 964 is now a modern classic, and one of the most iconic and sought after 911. It still has the iconic 911 shape but comes with a host of creature comforts such as, air conditioning, central locking, and power steering.
