VW Beetle (1956)
Manufactured from 1938 to 2003, a total of 21,529,464 VW Beetles rolled off the production line, making it the longest running and most manufactured car of a single platform ever made. The Beetle is an extremely simple car, designed with a rudimentary torsion bar independent suspension on one end, and an engine and gearbox with a swing axle independent suspension on the other end. It is relatively easy for a novice or home mechanic.
This particular VW Beetle is a "oval window" that has been completely restored to a very high standard. The car is completely original except the body colour. Original engine, gearbox and body with a lot of attention to detail and a lot of money spent on importing the correct parts. Many parts sourced from Germany, including the carpeting and upholstery. A truly beautiful classic Beetle that can be very easily be used as an everyday commute, easy to drive and inexpensive to maintain.
